Another MACCL Season over

Report: Maureen Wilkins -

Well another season of MCCL completed and what fantastic achievements from you all, turning out in all weather conditions. Although I personally like lots of rain, mud and snow!! It’s great to see lots of you progressing over the past few months and reaching your goals.

On behalf of the group, we would like to wish Nikki speedy recovery, Nikki I’m sure you’ll be back soon, take it easy though. Plenty of time to get back to your fitness. The groups not the same without!

I would like to say a huge thank you to Alexis and Kevin for taking on the team managers role. I believe Alexis is going to continue again next season. (Thank you Alexis) Also Rebecca, Ian and Jenny for putting up the gazebo at all the events and for the lovely cakes, tea, coffee and soup too. Having the Stockport gazebo makes such an impact on the club, in that we are all supporting each other meeting new friends and being part of something.

I must say the children have been an inspiration, their support to each other kindness resilience and perseverance, has enabled them to enjoy the sport make new friends and what fantastic sportsmanship they demonstrate with their fellow athletes. Its lovely to see them cheering the adults to make them run even harder. I’m very proud to be part of such a great club and I’m sure all the parents would echo my sentiments. The Sportsmanship I have observed in its very essence, is respect for others and for one's self. It encompasses all that which is good in human nature. It is a concrete measure of the understanding and commitment to fair play, ethical behaviour and integrity. They are our future athletes after all.
